Our team, formerly part of Baily Garner (Health & Safety), was appointed as Principal Designer for a key phase of the regeneration of Wornington Green in North Kensington.
This part of the programme involved the demolition of existing properties and construction of a seven-storey block, delivering 89 new apartments across three cores for affordable rent and private sale.
The site’s proximity to the main Paddington to West Country railway line introduced unique design and operational challenges. These included both construction constraints and long-term maintenance considerations.
Working collaboratively with the design team, we developed a safe and practical window-cleaning strategy for the rear elevation facing the railway. The final approach involved davit arms and rope access solutions to ensure future access could be maintained without compromising safety.
Our Principal Designer role helped ensure statutory duties were met while enabling safe and efficient delivery in a complex urban setting.
