Project Summary

Overview

Our team, formerly part of Baily Garner (Health & Safety), is supporting the regeneration of Flag Lane Baths in Crewe by providing Principal Designer services to Always Ahead. The project was unanimously approved by Cheshire East Council in May 2023 and aims to restore the site from its disused state into a vibrant, multi-use community facility.

Originally opened in 1937, the art deco building has been part of Crewe’s civic identity for more than 80 years. It once stood as a symbol of local pride, innovation and public investment. After falling into disrepair, it became a focus of concern for residents who called for its return to public use.

The current plans will transform the building into a community hub with spaces for youth services, counselling, heritage galleries, social enterprise units, a café and a community grocery. The scheme is backed by national partners including Bentley, Network Rail and AO, as well as grassroots support from the people of Crewe who have donated time and funding to the project.

We are proud to be part of a collaborative team including Baily Garner LLP, working together to restore one of Crewe’s most cherished landmarks and ensure it serves the town’s needs for generations to come.
