Free online training on work-related stress
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has launched a free interactive eLearning module aimed at helping employers manage workplace stress — one of the leading causes of work-related ill health in the UK.
Why stress management matters
Stress, anxiety and depression account for around half of all work-related illness. Common causes include:
- Heavy workloads or unrealistic deadlines
- Lack of control over how work is done
- Insufficient support from managers or colleagues
- Workplace conflict or poor relationships
- Uncertainty due to organisational change
Employers have a legal duty to assess and manage the risks from work-related stress under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
About the new eLearning module
As part of its Working Minds campaign, HSE’s new eLearning course offers:
- Overview of stress and its impact on workers
- Interactive content including questions and animations
- Guidance on identifying and addressing stress in the workplace
- Practical steps to implement effective stress management
The module is freely available and can be accessed via the Working Minds website.
