Overview

This Level 2 NVQ recognises practical competence in your trade through on-site assessment. It’s ideal for skilled operatives who want to formalise their experience, obtain a CSCS card, and meet client or contractor compliance standards.

Assessment takes place while you work, making it a straightforward way to gain a nationally recognised qualification without leaving site.

  • Format: On-site assessment (OSAT) with remote support
  • Duration: Typically 8–16 weeks, depending on trade and access
  • Assessment: Observations, professional discussion, work evidence and witness statements
  • Level: 2
  • Certificate validity: NVQ qualification with no expiry
  • Prerequisites: Employed in a relevant trade role with access to live site activities

Assessment and certification

You’ll be assessed by a qualified NVQ assessor while carrying out your normal work. Evidence is gathered through observation, discussion and site records.

Once complete, you’ll receive a nationally recognised Level 2 NVQ certificate. This supports CSCS card applications and helps demonstrate competence to employers and clients.
