The HSE are making a particular effort to carry out as many spot checks and inspections as possible during the Coronavirus pandemic with a particular focus on making sure that workplaces are Covid-secure. In order to do this they have announced that in addition to their normal inspectors they are using approved providers to carry out the spot check calls and visits.
Security is an issue for most workplaces and it can be important that you are able to verify the identity of any visitors to your premises, in particular if those visitors are not expected. The HSE have announced that any officers that visit premises will be carrying identification from their business and a letter of authorisation from HSE. If you wish to verify who it is calling you or that the officer at your door is working for HSE, then you can call 0300 790 6896 to check.
