When the current Control of Asbestos Regulations came into force in 2012 it was a requirement that from time to time the Secretary of State must carry out a review of regulations and set out and publish the conclusions of the review in a report. The first review was carried out in 2017 and found that overall the regulations had met their objectives and helped to achieve a high level of compliance.
It has now been announced that a second post implementation review will take place and the HSE will be seeking the views of a wide range of stakeholders using an online survey towards the end of May. Further details are expected to be announced shortly.
The full report of the 2017 review can be found on the Gov.UK website at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/control-of-asbestos-regulations-2012-post-implementation-review?utm_source=govdelivery&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=guidance-push-hse&utm_term=asbestos-pir-2&utm_content=construction-apr-21
