Who is this course designed for?

This one-day course is aimed to teach new operators how to safely sling and move loads.

This course is an in-house course for Slinger Banksman only. Appointed persons and lift supervisors require separate training to comply with BS7121.

Delegates must be over 18 years of age and medically fit. The course requires suitable and safe lifting machinery accompanied by lifting accessories in good condition, supplied by the client with a competent trained operative to undertake the practical element in a safe segregated area where the course is held.

What is covered?

  • Their statutory duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
  • The importance of sling angle in relation to safe working load
  • The importance of weight and centre of gravity in relation to the safe working load of the lifting tackle
  • Signalling code for slingers
  • Assessment is via a practical exercise and multiple choice test paper.
