Who is this course designed for?

Manager, Supervisors, Operatives, Site Supervisors, who need to have scaffolding knowledge for their own safety and for the safety of others on site.

This training course will help you to understand the key safety and legal requirements to reduce the risks of working around scaffolding.

It will give attendees up-to-date knowledge of how to safely observe and control scaffolding operations.

The course requires a local live scaffold close to the venue (i.e. construction site that can be visited).

  • Refresher training: Recommended every 3 years

  • Legislation overview
  • Construction Design and Management (CDM)
  • Work at Height Regulations; TG20:13 & SG4:15
  • Basic scaffolding components
  • Towers and prefabricated system scaffold
  • Fall prevention & arrest for scaffolders
  • Access ladders/stair towers
  • Inspection requirements
  • Hazard spotting exercise (classroom)
  • Hazard spotting exercise (live scaffold)
  • Assessment is via a practical exercise and multiple choice test paper.
