IOSH Leading Safely

NVQ Lv.3 Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety Practice

The City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Practice is ideal for anyone wishing to broaden their current knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace. Through flexible contact with your designated assessor via email, telephone or scheduled face to meetings, candidates will be expected to build a personal portfolio of evidence which demonstrates their knowledge and application of nationally set standards.

NVQ Lv.5 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety Practice

The City & Guilds NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety is ideal for anyone who has already obtained the NVQ Level 3 Certificate or an equivalent qualification, as well as having specific health and safety responsibilities and significant authority to influence organisational policies and procedures. Typical candidates who enrol on this course are a manager or advisor within a senior management team.

Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF)

The QA Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF) has been specifically designed to provide candidates with a basic introduction to workplace health and safety. It is suitable for all employees working in a range of environments, as well as employees returning to work or entering work for the first time. With all subjects covered in just 4 hours, this regulated and nationally recognised qualification is ideal for providing employees with a basic understanding of workplace health and safety whilst helping employers to fulfil their legal duties.

Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (QCF)

The QA Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF) is ideal for all employees, as it helps candidates develop a greater understanding of health and safety issues and the role that everyone plays in maintaining a safe working environment. The QA Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed to provide candidates with a more advanced understanding of health and safety. Ideal for those who work, or intend to work at a supervisory or management level, this 3 day course covers a range of health and safety topics, including: workplace legal requirements, the benefits of using a health and safety system, principles of risk assessment and the risks and control methods for common workplace hazards.

Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (QCF)

The QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) qualification is specifically designed for individuals who wish to act as a first aider in their workplace. Successful candidates will learn how to manage a range of injuries and illnesses that could occur at work and will be equipped with the essential skills needed to give emergency first aid. What’s more, as a regulated qualification, employers can book this course for their employees and rest assured that they have fulfilled their legal responsibilities for providing quality first aid training, without having to undertake any lengthy due diligence checks.

Level 2 Award In Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (QCF)

The QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (RQF) qualification has been designed to provide candidates with the skills needed to administer safe, prompt and effective basic life support and use an AED safely in emergency situations. With an estimated 60,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests occurring every year in the UK alone, make sure you are prepared!

Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)

The QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) has been specifically designed to meet the criteria set by the Department for Education’s EYFS Framework and is ideal for:

  • Those who have gained a level 2 and/or level 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with EYFS requirements.
  • Registered childminders and assistants who are required to hold a current and full paediatric first aid certificate in order to comply with the EYFS requirements.
  • Anyone who has a non-professional involvement with infants and children, such as parents, grandparents and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills.

Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF)

The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) qualification has been designed in-line with the current Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements and is ideal for:

  • Those who have gained a level 2 or 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with the EYFS requirements.
  • Anyone who cares for infants and children, such as parents, guardians, grandparents or those who have an involvement with infants and children and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills

Level 2 Award in citizenAID (RQF)

The QA Level 2 Award in citizenAID (RQF) has been specifically developed to help members of the public learn life-saving skills for use in these extreme situations. Based on the citizenAID phone App and pocket guide, this regulated qualification is designed to teach people how to react safely, prioritise the injured and give first aid to victims in the event of a deliberate multiple casualty incident. During this 3 hour course, candidates will have the opportunity to practise techniques for dealing with catastrophic bleeding and will be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to save lives in the aftermath of a terrorist attack.

Fire Safety

Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness (QCF)

The QA Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who want to increase their awareness of fire safety in the workplace. Candidates will learn basic fire safety principles in order to ensure they are keeping themselves and others in the workplace safe at all times. They will also learn what to do in the event of an emergency and the simple measures that can be taken to control the risk of fires. With subjects covered in just half a day, this course is an ideal way to ensure that all employees have a good understanding of fire safety, whilst minimising disruption to your organisation’s day to day activity.

Level 2 Award in Fire Safety (QCF)

The QA Level 2 Award in Fire Safety (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification that has been specifically designed for anyone who has a specific responsibility for fire safety in the workplace, such as designated fire wardens/fire marshals. Successful candidates will gain an understanding of fire safety management at work and the specific roles and responsibilities related to fire safety in the workplace.

Manual Handling

Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling (QCF)

The QA Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, designed to cover the basic principles of manual handling. This theory based qualification is ideal for all employees as it provides candidates with an awareness of safe manual handling practices and the risks of unsafe manual handling. With subjects covered in just half a day, this course is an ideal way to reduce the risk of workplace manual handling injuries, whilst minimising disruption to your organisation’s day to day activities!

Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling (QCF)

The QA Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who work, or intend to work, in a role that involves manual handling. It is the perfect course for those working in a variety of environments including warehouses and shops. Successful candidates will learn the key principles of manual handling and how to apply these to their workplace. They will also practise a wide range of techniques, ensuring that they leave the course confident and proficient in moving and handling.

Risk Assessment

Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment (RQF)

The QA Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification specifically designed to provide candidates with a greater awareness of risks within the workplace and the measures that can be taken to control them. Ideal for all employees, this 1 day course covers a variety of topics, including: the main causes of work-related fatalities, processes for undertaking a risk assessment, methods that can be used to prioritise risks and more.

Level 3 Award in Risk Assessment (RQF)

The QA Level 3 Award in Risk Assessment (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification specifically designed for those who have a responsibility for conducting risk assessments in low risk environments, such as supervisors and site managers. The qualification is also suitable for those who significantly contribute towards the risk assessment process, such as team leaders and technicians.

Level 2 Award in Principles of COSHH

The QA Level 2 Award in Principles of COSHH (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification specifically designed to provide candidates with a basic knowledge of COSHH regulations and requirements.
