National Highways, the Government company which plans, designs, builds, operates and maintains motorways and major A roads in England recently launched a Driving on Motorways hub which contains a number of videos and other information regarding safer driving and what to do in an emergency.
The Driving on Motorways hub can be found on the National Highways website at: https://nationalhighways.co.uk/road-safety/driving-on-motorways/
Topics covered include:
- How smart motorways work,
- What general traffic signs and signals mean,
- Red X signals,
- What to do if you breakdown, and
- What to do if you break down in a “live” lane
Where you have employees who drive, whether on the road or on site, as part of their work, it is important that you have suitable policies and procedures place. Please speak to your normal PIB Risk management contact or get in touch using firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or would like assistance with developing a safe driving or occupational road risk policy.
