The Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) have published a new technical information note regarding issues with the lifting of loads with integral lifting points on construction sites.
The new guidance covers questions such as:
- Where the distinction is between an integral lifting point and a lifting accessory
- Whether integral lifting points be thoroughly examined under the lifting operations and lifting equipment regulations (LOLER)?
- What type of inspections should integral lifting points be subject to?
- What are the relevant design and manufacturing codes and standards?
The new guidance TCIG TIN 053 Lifting of Loads with Integral Lift Points can be downloaded from the CPA website at: https://www.cpa.uk.net/safety-and-technical-publications/tower-crane-guidance/tcig-technical-information-notes
