The HSE and the University of Manchester are starting work on an ambitious new programme called Discovering Safety. The programme aims to use using new insights from data and novel analytical techniques to improve health and safety on a global scale through education, practical improvement initiatives and commercial tools and services.

Phase 1 of the programme is about to start and the HSE is looking to engage with a wide group of stakeholders, within the UK and internationally, to further understand the key health and safety challenges they face and where a data-driven approach could make a positive impact on these. So far seven use cases that could be tested under the programme have already been identified but the HSE would like to add more, spanning different stakeholder groups, industry sectors and levels of health and safety maturity.
